In-situ sensors, "pollution-free", with real-time data capture.

What is it?

BAS = Bio-Optical Aqua Sensors, corresponds to a solution developed by Plancton Andino for the measurement of bio-optical variables in situ, in real time and free of chemical reagents (pollution-free). The BAS considers an IOT application to send updated data in real time available in the Plancton Andino mobile application, using Business Intelligence tools.

What is the service about?

The BAS measures optical signals of chlorophyll a, turbidity, phycocyanin and hydrocarbons. The variables can be captured in situ and in real time or for long-term applications (monitoring stations). The service and implementation of the BAS includes the creation of automatic early warnings against possible episodes of HABs, oil spills, alterations in the quality of drinking water, among others, notifying customers and users online. Benefits of the BAS System

  • Get data online and in real time.
  • Make timely decisions in the face of anomalies in the water column.
  • Generate early warnings for Harmful Algal Blooms (HAB).
  • Sensors in situ, pollution-free.
The sensors used have been corrected and validated for Chilean waters through laboratory tests and field experiments. In addition, the BAS considers the use of outlier detection models to automatically remove and correct erroneous data and signals.

The monitoring of bio-optical variables allows knowing in real time the status of HABs in the water, generating early warnings for rapid decision-making, generating added value to Plancton Andino services.
